How it works

Choose an inspection mode, then select a floating label or a focus preset to study one assembly. The step band, both chains, the sprockets, the drive train and the handrails all move from one shared speed.

Navigation

  • Orbit: drag with the left mouse button or one finger.
  • Zoom: scroll the wheel or pinch.
  • Pan: drag with the right or middle button, hold Shift while dragging, or move two fingers.
  • Inspect: select a floating label, or open Focus under Inspect and choose a preset.

Inspection modes

  • Cutaway: removes the near balustrade and skirt.
  • X-ray: makes the structure and enclosure translucent.
  • Exploded: separates the side assemblies while motion continues.
  • Step rig: shows a magnified, separated step assembly.

Keyboard: select the 3D view first; its outline shows that it has the keyboard. Space starts or stops the drive, R reverses it, 1 to 4 select the inspection mode, and Escape releases the keyboard.

Engineering scope

This is a dimensionally coherent, generic 30° commercial escalator demonstrator. It represents the principal mechanical architecture and synchronized motion, but it is not manufacturer-certified fabrication or maintenance CAD.

System overview

Twin-chain commercial escalator

A continuous band of rigid steps is carried by synchronized left and right step chains. Main rollers carry load on one rail system; offset trailer rollers follow a second rail profile that controls step attitude through the landings, incline and return turns.
