Light reveals the finish.

Display settings only. The material already removed, tool contact and exported dimensions do not change.

The 3840 × 2160 export renders the actual current scene, not an upscaled screenshot. The viewport remains limited by display/GPU performance. Synthetic HDR studio assets and material values are reconstructed, not measured OEM finishes. Fine lay is illustrative, not measured Ra.

CNC Turning Engineering Lab

This independent educational reconstruction uses a production universal turning center as a machine-category reference. Internal dimensions, 12-station turret, direct-drive explanation, 10/5 mm screws and wedge chuck are declared reconstructions, not verified factory service geometry.

DigiSim and this exhibit are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any machine-tool manufacturer; the reference machine identifies a published machine category only.

Controls

Drag: orbit. Alt + drag while paused: discrete, validated X/Z jogging (0.05 mm per pixel). Shift + drag / right-drag: pan. Wheel: zoom. Double-click: cutting view. Space: freeze / resume the simulation clock. H: feed hold. S: controlled stop. Escape: leave fullscreen or close dialogs. Reduced-motion mode is available below.

Real stock, bounded simulation

The worker subtracts the active tool cross-section at actual material-angle crossings. Saved projects contain radial intervals, angular history through the residual, unwrapped spindle phase and current program progress. STL exports contain the residual, including the remaining bar. They do not contain the design target.

Standard stock uses approximately 0.24 mm axial cells and 128 angular sectors. Fine stock uses approximately 0.06 mm and 256 sectors. These interactive settings do not claim the requested 0.02 mm global error. A separate 0.02 mm-cell ANALYTICAL-tool benchmark is included; it is not a dimensional guarantee for the physical inserts or complete parts. Thread profiles and topological extraction have separate limitations. Small multi-interval remnants can remain at discretized cutting boundaries; they are retained, not cosmetically healed.

HD surfaces in 1.2

A bundled GGX-prefiltered HDR reflection environment, linear-light render target, differentiated conductor/dielectric finishes, fine local-coordinate textures, chamfered non-cutting cylinders, recessed socket heads, formed panels, seals and live screen are new. The 1.1 simulation worker and engine remain byte-identical. Exact paint code, coating chemistry, measured roughness, production generation and service geometry remain unverified. This is not an OEM digital twin.

Mechanical corrections in 1.1

Insert silhouettes, cutting envelopes and compensation share the same definition. Holder collisions stop the program. The former 40 mm golden parting block is now a short carbide tip in a narrower steel blade. Chuck master slides no longer intersect the bar. Rear pulley shoulders use grooving rather than an inaccessible OD-holder approach. Bores are limited to the actual modeled steel-bar reach: 37 mm for boring and 27 mm for internal threading. These are setup constraints, not universal machine limits.

Old v1.0 checkpoints are intentionally not accepted for continued cutting: they were produced by different tool geometry. Load a fresh blank or one of the v1.1 project files.

Important limits

Collision checks use conservative selected envelopes, not a complete CAD swept-volume collision solver. Tool definitions are representative, not commercial part numbers. CAM uses a sampled full-insert envelope. It does not constitute general machining-process validation; inaccessible arbitrary edited profiles may retain allowance or stop at a collision. All-tool CAD swept-volume checking and force-based workholding validation remain incomplete. Particle chips, coolant, bearing circulation, the final parting core and handling are explanatory—not force, fluid, wear or rigid-body solvers. The paired threads are generic 60° single-start examples, not a certified thread class. No cutting-force or accuracy certification is implied.

Pause freezes everything. Feed hold keeps a normal spindle turning. During G33, hold coordinates the spindle and synchronized axis down to rest; the feed override does not change thread lead. New blank is the only ordinary workflow that restores removed material.

All runtime code and procedural assets are local. No cloud account, live CDN or paid API is required.
